Bio - Jessica Elam
Jessica Elam was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Her great-grandmother was in impressionist painter, and her grandfather was also a talented artist. This sparked an interest in her, early on, to express herself through art.
Her pieces can sometimes be radically different from one another because she relishes not having to restrict herself to one style of painting. However, all of her work has the same vibrant colors.
Jessica is inspired by nature and the small things in life that people miss every day. The way a tree branch bends in the wind, or the swirl of water catching a ray of sunlight can absorb her imagination for hours until she can find a way to translate it onto canvas.
Jessica held her first exhibit at Gallery280 in April of 2007. This exhibit marks the fifth public showing of her work. She is happily married and currently resides in Coos Bay, Oregon.
